How What is Fear/Respect? works

In Gokudo, the way you interact with NPC actually matters, if you kill NPCs regularly, you gain Fear. On the opposite side, if you help them, you gain Respect. NPCs will remember you and what you’ve done to them. This resets every 3 days and every time you do something new, the clock resets. RESPECT & FEAR SYSTEM HOW YOU EARN IT Action - Axis - Gain Finisher - Fear - +6 Last Swing - Fear - +3 Backstab - Fear - +1 Weapon Hit - Fear - +1 Outnumbered Win - Respect - +10 Clash Won - Respect - +5 Parry - Respect - +2 Respect comes from fighting well — timing, skill, and standing up to worse odds. Fear comes from fighting cruelly — weapons, attacking from behind, and finishing people. THE CORNERS Climb both ladders and you stop being either title. You get a third one instead. These are the only titles in the game that require two things at once. Musha - Kaoyaku (700) Respect + Shura (700) Fear Goketsu - Jingi (1400) Respect + Yasha (1400) Fear Kishin - Meiyo (2500) Respect + Rasetsu (2500) Fear Onigashira - Kashira (4200) Respect + Akuma (4200) Fear Oyabun - Tenka (6800) Respect + Jigoku (6800) Fear Gokudo - Densetsu (10800) Respect + Maou (10800) Fear A corner always asks the same rung on both sides — there is no discount on the harder axis. Reaching one means playing two opposite ways well, which is why they are rare. Expect one or two players per server, if that.
