Gokudo Parrying / Perfect Blocking

Face the attacker and block just before impact. A successful parry prevents damage, chip damage and posture loss, and briefly stuns the attacker.

Parrying is a timed block right as an attack is about to land. If your timing is inside the parry window while facing the attacker, you perfect block instead of taking a normal block.

  • A parry is not a normal block: no damage, no block chip, no posture loss.
  • Parrying stuns your attacker temporarily, presenting the opportunity to counter and attack them.

Our advice

A parry earns +2 Respect as well as a counter opportunity. Riposte still prevents attacking, dashing, blocking and dodging for 0.5s, but the target can still walk. Focus on the incoming hit rather than repeatedly tapping block.
